He graduated from Izmir Science High School and Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine.
He completed his residency in 2004 at Ege University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Nuclear Medicine.
He worked at Istanbul Gulhane Medical Academy, Department of Nuclear Medicine in 2005.
He successfully past the MCQ examination for the European Fellowship in Nuclear Medicine in 2005.
His first clinical trial on thyroid diseases was published by Journal of Endocrinology in 2006. It became the first registered clinical trial of Turkey. It has been cited for more than 200 times and it has been one of the most read articles for more than 13 years.

His articles on thyroid diseases have been cited internationally more than 250 times.
Autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's thyroiditis), Graves' disease, nodular diseases of thyroid, follow up of well differentiated thyroid cancers, clinical decision for "radioiodine treatments and nuclear medicine applications" are areas of his expertise.
